Must-Have Motorcycle Apparel for Denver Riders

Looking to upgrade your riding gear? There are a few types of motorcycle apparel Denver motorcyclists should never be without, including:

  • Motorcycle Helmet: This is a given. Although Colorado doesn't require motorcyclists over the age of 18 to wear a helmet, doing so holds too many advantages to ignore. Not only does wearing a helmet protect your head in an accident, but it also shields your face from bugs, lets you use Bluetooth, and even gives you an air of mystery.
  • Motorcycle Gloves: Sure, motorcycle gloves look cool, but they're so much more than an accessory. If you're in an accident, chances are you'll try to protect the rest of your body with your hands. In this case, heavy-duty gloves are an absolute must. You can also purchase weatherproofed motorcycle gloves that prevent skin chafing against heavy winds.
  • Motorcycle Jacket: Other than your helmet, some would argue that a motorcycle jacket is the most important garment. Your motorcycle jacket is your armor while you're on the road, protecting you from the elements and potential road rash. Leather is often the material of choice here, but you have plenty of other options. Many motorcyclists use a breathable perforated textile jacket for spring and fall, and a full-leather jacket for the colder months.
  • Motorcycle Boots: Motorcycling requires the right footwear. When you're traveling 60 mph on the highways or even just around the City, you need heavy-duty boots that'll protect your feet - and usually, that means sturdy, over-the-ankle boots that won't fly off.
  • Motorcycle Pants: Any avid rider will tell you that it's not safe (nor is it fashion-forward) to ride around in shorts or everyday pants like jeans. For the best possible protection, consider investing in leather pants or jeans reinforced with Kevlar panels.

Contact us to schedule a time to come in and let us evaluate your existing gear or recommend new gear.  Team Erico is happy to share our personal recommendations for any of the above, as well as accessories for your bike.
