What is a Cruiser Motorcycle?

A cruiser is a type of motorcycle that’s typically built with comfort in mind. Cruisers tend to have a low seat, high and wide handlebars, and foot pegs near the front of the bike. This puts the rider in a neutral or slightly reclined position, making it more comfortable to ride long distances. The low seat also makes it easy to walk the bike when stopped or in slow-moving traffic. Cruisers typically also have a softer suspension to help filter out bumps and dips in the road, yielding a smooth ride. 

There are a handful of different styles of motorcycle within the segment. Entry-level models are priced lower, have fewer options, and are more novice friendly takes on cruiser bikes. While they don’t necessarily lend themselves to urban riding or commuting, touring bikes are perfect for racking up miles on the open road. The Speedmaster delivers a distinctive cruiser riding position with a timeless and sophisticated style. A well-hidden monoshock helps maintain the Bobber’s hard-tail motif, and an all-LED headlight and cruise control are now standard options.
